Watt Footprint is proud to announce a new strategic partnership with Arbor School, the 2025 winner of the World’s Best School for Environmental Action award and the first school in the UAE to be recognised with this prestigious global honour.

This partnership marks the next stage in Arbor’s sustainability journey, transitioning from world-class eco-literacy to world-class energy performance, data transparency, and carbon reduction.

Supported by Enterprise Ireland, Watt Footprint will work closely with Arbor’s leadership team to implement a comprehensive, measurable, and educational energy-management programme designed specifically for schools.

As part of the collaboration, Watt Footprint will:

·       Establish an ISO 50001 aligned energy management system.

·       Deploy smart metering and the Watt Footprint platform to monitor real-time energy use across campus buildings.

·       Run the “Watt Watchers” programme, conducting regular energy audits to uncover opportunities for savings.

·       Support Arbor’s wider sustainability and decarbonisation strategy

·       Integrate energy management into the student learning experience, connecting data with classroom education.

Arbor School has long been a global benchmark for sustainability-driven education from biodomes and regenerative gardens to student-led environmental action. This new partnership strengthens that vision by providing the energy data, systems, and insights needed to reduce emissions and lower operational costs across the school.

As an Irish-founded climate-tech company based in Dubai and backed by Enterprise Ireland, Watt Footprint plans to expand similar initiatives across schools in the UAE, helping education providers turn sustainability ambitions into quantifiable results.

Ken Jones, Chief Operating Officer Praxis Education / Arbor School commented “Arbor School is a values-led, future-focused learning community where ecological and environmental education, wellbeing and academic rigour are deeply connected. We believe education should empower young people to think critically, act responsibly and contribute positively to the world around them. Everything we do – from our curriculum to our operations – reflects our commitment to creating meaningful, real-world learning that prepares students for a sustainable future.

Sustainability at the Arbor School is about acting. Effective energy management enables us to reduce our environmental impact while reinforcing the values we instil in our students every day. Partnering with Watt Footprint gives us the clarity, data and expertise to make informed decisions that align with our mission and demonstrate what responsible leadership looks like in practice.”

Stephen Twomey Director Enterprise Ireland MENA said “Enterprise Ireland is proud to have supported Watt Footprint in bringing Irish innovation to the UAE education sector. Through our market insights and introductions to key stakeholders in the region, we helped Watt Footprint establish this strategic partnership with The Arbor School. This collaboration demonstrates how Irish technology and expertise can enable schools to achieve measurable sustainability goals while inspiring the next generation to take climate action. By combining world-class energy management systems with a strong educational component, Watt Footprint is setting a new benchmark for environmental performance in schools. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this initiative will have in reducing carbon emissions and advancing the UAE’s sustainability ambitions”

Paul O’Reilly Chairman & Founder of Watt Footprint said “This partnership reflects exactly why we founded Watt Footprint – to turn energy data into meaningful action. By combining real-time monitoring with expert analysis, we’re enabling organisations to make informed investment decisions, meet compliance requirements, and build a clear roadmap to lower costs and carbon. Most importantly, in an education setting, it allows sustainability to become visible, measurable, and part of everyday learning, creating a living lab for the next generation.”
